Dear Parents and Guardians,

Just a quick note, as this week has been abbreviated by both a holiday and the rain! Even with the holiday and early release we have been busy. Social Studies classes have finished reviewing world geography and will move to United States geography next week. Language Arts classes will be reading novels so all students should now have a book that they are reading. Math 6 and Transition Math classes have quizzes scheduled for next Tuesday. Science classes have been studying the scientific process and have begun our study of water – the theme for the year.

Here is advance notice of some upcoming events:

We have scheduled a field trip for Thursday, September 16th. Field trip forms went home today with more information. We will be keeping a close eye on the weather from "Ivan" and will cancel or reschedule if needed.

Our team has planned a potluck dinner for Tuesday, September 21st beginning at 6:00 in the school cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to meet the parents of all the new friends your child has made. Flyers will go home next Tuesday.

We will be sending home conference sign-up forms next week. We try to have a variety of times scheduled to choose from and hope to find times that are convenient to meet with all our parents.
