Mrs. DiSalvo teaches 6th grade math and science at Blacksburg Middle School in the "B" pod. Her teaching partner is Cari Henson. This is her 9th year at BMS. When not teaching she spends a lot of time working with plants, cooking and sewing. She loves reading as well. Oh, that sounds - boring?! She has three children. Her oldest son is in the Richmond City Police Academy, her daughter teaches 8th grade civics at CMS, and her youngest son is a junior at CNU. She has a crazy dog named Fill (named for the landfill where he was found), a cat named Spackle and her school lizard Norbert. She goes to a lot of BHS football and soccer games and to VT Hokie football and basketball games. You may contact Mrs. DiSalvo by calling the school at 951-5800 or e-mailing her. About Ms. Henson My goal in teaching is to help the students to become informed and effective citizens as well as becoming life- long learners. I graduated undergraduate from Virginia Tech with a History degree and two minors in Political Science and Math in December of 2000. Following graduation I worked at several different companies in various capacities until deciding to come back to school to get my Masters in Education in May of 2006. I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, gardening, snowboarding, swimming, and running with my dog Hazel. "Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand." ~Chinese Proverb You can contact Ms. Henson by calling the school at 951-5800 or e-mailing her.
