KEYBOARDINGKeyboarding is a one-semester course using Pentium processor computers, Windows 2000, and Microsoft Word 2000. Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
Grading PolicyQuizzes, tests and projects will be used during the semester to assess student learning. There will also be timed-writings to evaluate keyboarding speed and accuracy. At the end of the semester, a final project will be completed to demonstrate mastery of all material covered in the course. The grading scale is based on a 10-point scale with 90-100=A, 80-89=B, 70-79=C, 60-69=D; and below 60=F. HomeworkPractice outside of class is encouraged if you have access to a computer, but not mandatory. There is no homework other than studying for quizzes and tests. If a students needs or wants to stay after school or come in early to catch up, talk to me and I will be happy to schedule a time. AbsencesIf a student is absent, he/she will have five (5) days to make up missed work. It is the student's responsibility to come to me for assignments. If not turned in after five days, a zero will be recorded. SuppliesPen/pencil Notebook paper 1" 3-Ring binder Students need a pen and paper daily. They also need a 1" 3-ring binder which will be kept in the keyboarding room. These notebooks will be checked periodically throughout the semester for a participation grade.
