To make a link:
- Enclose the name of the object in asterisks.
- e.g. *Contacts*
- In the full-editor, the name of the object will appear in green if the system recognizes its name. It will appear in red if it cannot find that object.
- *Contact Information>Contacts* will create a link with the name "Contact Information" that points to the "Contacts" page. It will look like this: Contact Information
- To link to or inline any page file within the same Site folder, simply use the name.
- For anything outside your Site folder, you'll need to give the full path name.
- Link to a Page/Object file, including an image, within site folder
- put it between asterisks: *Page Name*
- to give it an alias: *Alias>Page Name*
- Link to a Page/Object file of a different Site within TeacherBridge
- use forward slash marks: */Different Site/Page Name*
- Link to Site outside TB
- Use the absolute URL: *http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/swiki*
- Link to E-mail address
- Simply enclose address with asterisks: *self@mail.me.com*
Inlining an object is similar to linking to an object, except that the object gets embedded into the page. To inline an object,
- Enclose the name of the object in forward slashes.
- example: \TBlogo.gif\
- In the full-editor, the name of the object will appear in green if the system recognizes its name. It will appear in red if it cannot find that object.
NOTE:If the page that you are linking does not already exist in your folder (or if you mistype the name), a button shows up in the browser with "Create new page named... " You can click this button to create the page.
And thus endeth the lesson. The best way to become better at creating web pages with TeacherBridge is to create pages with TeacherBridge. Feel free to peruse the other sections of the support pages for additional help. Good luck!
