DAMAGES OF LIGHTNING

This page shows how lightning effects things directly. Lightning has about 100,000 volts per strike. Although this is a tremendous amount of energy, sometimes people and things get lucky. A single man was struck by lightning six times-and he survived! However, large ammounts of damage can be accumulated by lightning.
Also, beyond just luck, it depends on what material the lightning strikes. Metal buildings are made of material that conducts electricity very well, so much damage is caused. However, if a man coated entirely in rubber was hit, he would not be hurt(though it would be hard to breathe).
