Text Box: MATH LEAD TEACHER/ADMINISTRATOR
	In a newly created position at CMS this year is Seydric Williams, our lead teacher for math with administrative duties.  Mr. Williams is a Granville County native which is just north of Raleigh, NC.  Mr. Williams is married to Mekeisha Williams, who is a member of the Hokie faculty at Virginia Tech.  They have two children, Christopher (five years old) and Chase (two years old)  The two boys are full of energy and leave Mr. Williams little time for hobbies.  
	Mr. Williams is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education.  He concentrated in math and language arts while at UNCC.  He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from North Carolina State University.
	Prior to his service as the Lead Math Teacher at CMS.  Mr. Williams served as Principal of Creedmoor Elementary School and as an Assistant Principal at G.C. Hawley Middle School in North Carolina.  Mr. Williams has also served as a 6th grade math teacher, boys’ basketball, and baseball coach, and he advised a performing step team.  Mr. Williams will have students with their last name beginning with Q through Z referred to  him.
SIXTH GRADE	
	Karen Jones is a sixth grade math teacher at CMS.  Teaching math is one of her passions, and her enthusiasm will be felt by everyone who enters her room.  She believes that every child can learn math, and she has planned lots of exciting lessons to encourage all her students to see math in a real and fun way.  Ms. Jones is a native of Blacksburg where she lives with her three children, one mean cat and one lazy snake.  When she is not planning fun math games, she spends much of her time involved with her children’s various activities including gymnastics, baseball, boy scouts, and karate.  She also enjoys camping, spending time with extended family and friends and exploring Virginia.
	Cheri Sharp is excited about teaching 6th grade English this year at CMS, which she feels will be a positive and rewarding experience for her students and her.  Ms. Sharp feels that communication with parents plays  a key role in making that happen so she would like to introduce herself.  She grew up in Princeton, West Virginia with a father who was an elementary school principal.  She eventually decided to follow in his footsteps and become an educator.  She graduated from Bluefield State College in May 2006.  During college she met her husband, Elijah and they were married in June 2006.  Ms. Sharp taught in the Title I Reading program last year at Belview Elementary and taught 7th grade English during summer academy.  She spends her free time reading, shopping, watching movies with her husband, or traveling to West Virginia to visit family.  
	Kelley Theriot is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and graduated from LSU in 2001.  She moved to Pensacola, Florida, where she was married.  She has a 2 1/2 year old son named Cooper and a Rat Terrier dog named Oscar.  Ms. Theriot is thoroughly enjoying living in Christiansburg because of the many outdoor activities.  Kelley is looking forward to a terrific school year.
SEVENTH GRADE
	Patty Dickerson is excited to be a new seventh grade math teacher on the Apple team teaching algebra.  She taught for 20 years in Roanoke County and most recently in Rockbridge County.  She is married to David Dickerson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Radford.  They have four children.
