Social Issues Books

Middle school students openly deal with many more social issues than their parents did during their school years. Racism, child abuse, anger management, bullying, drugs, alcohol, and sexual orientation are all topics of discussion on buses, in halls, and at lunch tables. In the controlled environment of the WebPal group, students are able to discuss these issues in a safe place, where they not only get their peers' opinions, but also facts and accurate information from adult hosts. The protagonists in the social issues books deal with many of the above issues, thus allowing WebPals the freedom to explore their own feelings about difficult contemporary problems.
